Hey Deborah,
As you may know, for the past few years, I’ve been working on a new book. It’s called From Expertise to Impact: A Practical Guide to Informing and Influencing Science and Technology Policy.
"From Expertise to Impact" demystifies the process of influencing policy decisions, offering a roadmap for scientists and engineers through the journey of leveraging their scientific and technical expertise to make a tangible difference in science and technology policy for societal benefit. With practical exercises and real-world examples, I guide readers through the 4E's: effectiveness, efficiency, equity, and ease of political acceptability. In doing so, I provide a practical guide for informing and influencing science and technology policy.
I’m extremely excited about this book because it has critical information for anyone who wants to make an impact on society through their scientific and technical expertise. And now, it’s almost time to release it to the public.
Of course, I don't want to send it out into the world and hope for the best. :-)
First, I want to share it with the most important people in my community. (That’s you.)
That’s right, I want to send you an advance copy. And all I’m asking in return is that you:
1) Read the book :-) 2) Share an honest, thoughtful review with us by March 1
In return, you’ll get to read the book before it’s released…
AND I’ll send you an invitation to a special live panel discussion about the book.
Click here for more information and to claim your advance copy.
I can’t wait to hear what you think!
Debbie
P.S. You may forward this email to others in the S&T Policy Community who you think might be interested in this book.
P.P.S. If you're coming to the AAAS Annual Meeting in Denver this week, please stop by the workshop I'm hosting -- Empowering Change: A Workshop on Evaluating and Enhancing Equity -- with real-world examples from Denver. It's on Saturday, 2:30 pm MT in the Convention Center. Or, just say hi! if you're wandering the hallways.
